In the summer of 2005, the City of St. Cloud along with the St. Cloud Public Library (SCPL) Board and the Great River Regional Library (GRRL) Board, agreed to proceed with a 112,000 square foot new main library facility that includes the GRRL administrative and technical services.
The need for this new library facility and its size was determined in 2004 through an SCPL Assessment of Space Needs developed by Jeff Scherer of the architectural firm, Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. (MS&R). MS&R was subsequently chosen to be the architect for the new building project. Construction began fall 2006.
WC Consulting Inc. provided building systems consultation and construction specifications as a member of the MS&R design team.
